Paris Moon - Lune de Paris

Here is my Paris Moon. I painted it when I was 25 years old living in my apartment on la rue Mouffetard in Paris, France. I was inspired to paint this moon as I was in my whimsical, magical, Pierrot and Harlequin phase of my art. I sent a sketch of it to my brother John who was living 5000 miles away in Boulder, Colorado. John carved the moon and the stars just as I had sketched. He promptly sent them to me and I promptly painted them. This moon has followed me around the world from Paris to Tahiti to Connecticut. It hangs on my bedroom wall and touches my heart. My cherished brother John left this world when I was 37. Today I am sure he is hanging out on the other side of the moon watching over me.
